La Réunion : plus de 4 000 cas de chikungunya en une semaine, l’épidémie progresse

Le département d’Outre-mer a enregistré les deux premiers décès liés à l’épidémie la semaine dernière. La maladie transmise par le moustique continue sa progression sur le territoire.



La Réunion is experiencing a widespread chikungunya epidemic with over 4,000 new cases reported in one week (March 10-16), a 16% increase from the previous week. The outbreak has resulted in 15 severe cases and two deaths, prompting increased emergency room visits. Health authorities are prioritizing vaccination for seniors and those with comorbidities.
